Background
Water Treatment Services (Aust) Pty Ltd (WTS), a wholly Australian owned company, has entered into a distributorship agreement with USA based PureLine to distribute their PureMax™ chlorine dioxide (ClO2) water disinfection technology to the Australasian region.
Established in 1995 and headquartered in Illinois, USA, PureLine are recognised as experts in the generation and application of ClO2 in a diverse range of applications. PureLine’s patented and proven high purity ClO2 generation equipment enhances the safety, reliability, efficiency and cost-effectiveness of the water treatment process. A privately held company with 150 employees, PureLine manufactures all of their products in the USA, ensuring quality and consistency.
Solution
ClO2 is a strong oxidising agent with broad biocidal effectiveness and has about 2.5 times the oxidation capacity of chlorine. It is an effective membrane treatment and biocide. PureMaxTM is also used to prevent the spread of Legionella and other pathogens in cooling and wastewater. It is used extensively in the industrial and municipal sectors. In the food industry, PureMaxTM disinfects water used to sanitise equipment and preparation surfaces, wash fruit and vegetables, and prevent Salmonella and E.coli from contaminating meat and poultry. In Australia ClO2 is becoming increasingly used in the Power Utilities market due to its ability to reliably control biofilm with significantly reduced corrosion rates compared to primary alternatives.
