industrial applications with chlorine dioxide for over 15 years.

We are Australia’s largest chlorine dioxide producer for industrial sanitation and biofouling applications.

Water Treatment Services can produce chlorine dioxide safely on site with a variety of precursors in dedicated chlorine dioxide generators.

We can also supply a ready to go 3000ppm stabilised Chlorine Dioxide Solution (CDS) product that can be added directly to the system where this form of the ClO2 is more suitable.

ClO2 can be used effectively in most types of municipal and industrial applications including:

  • Cooling water systems: Heat exchanger surfaces, Cooling towers, Once through
  • Biofouling reduction and elimination – Bacterial slime, Algae, Molluscs
  • Legionella control
  • Reducing or eliminating under deposit corrosion and other MIC
  • Effluent sanitisation
  • H2S control/elimination
  • Fruit, vegetable & flower sanitation
  • Potable water systems

Chlorine Dioxide has many advantages over other oxidising and organic based biocide systems including:

  • Less reactive with other chemistries than other halogen products (for example ClO2 does not react with ammonia)
  • Less reactive with assets – Lower corrosion potential
  • No adverse disinfection by products – Does not produce chlorophenyls or trihalomethanes
  • Broad spectrum
  • High specificity with micro-organisms
  • Outstanding biofilm removal properties

Water Treatment Services design & build our own Chlorine Dioxide dosing equipment right here in Australia. Systems can be tailored to suit specific applications ranging from 0.1kg/hr to 100kg/hr of chlorine dioxide production.
